Maria Kluge / Autorin

Enthusiastic and inspiring

Born in Munich, Germany, Maria Kluge is a mindfulness trainer and body therapist who for many years lived in Italy and the United States. In 1993, she founded the Dogwood Institute for Alternative Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. Together with her husband John Kluge, she sponsored the work of numerous early innovators such as Joan Halifax, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Amishi Jha, Paul Ekman, and Patricia Jennings. The couple also supported the international Mind and Life Institute, Richard Davidson’s Center for Healthy Minds and the school projects of the Dalai Lama. Back in Germany, she has further established such a place for exchange with the Association for Mindfulness in Osterloh.

Andreas de Bruin’s interview with Maria Kluge covers numerous facets of Maria’s varied and extraordinary life. The dialogue also reveals a special friendship between two people who are intensively committed to a new educational landscape – in which young people, in particular, are supported in discovering and developing their own talents.

Excerpts from the interview were published March 2022 in
Magazin Moment by Moment, issue 01/2022

Das Interview mit der Autorin Maria Kluge und Andreas de Bruin untergliedert in 9 tiefgreifenden Kapiteln.
